We become deeply invested and involved in our client’s communities because we value the real and direct impacts of investing in local businesses and the community.
MAAS’ mission reflects the firm’s commitment to giving back to the communities we serve. Through donations, sponsorships, and volunteer work, we actively contribute to building and supporting our clients’ communities, with emphasis on efforts and contributions that impact and support students as directly as possible.
Dr. Michael Maas († 6/13/2012)
After serving in multiple Vice President roles within the California community college system, Dr. Michael Maas founded MAAS Companies in 1987. He brought first-hand expertise in educational master planning, facility planning, financial planning, site acquisition, program requirements, and entitlement processing. He developed the firm’s service offerings, starting with educational planning and development services and quickly expanding to include capital construction program management. Today, MAAS Companies carries on Dr. Maas’ legacy of deeply understanding educational institution needs and proactively navigating agency approval processes with reason, expertise, and partnership. Established by his daughters, the Dr. Michael L. Maas Memorial Endowed Scholarship at the Riverside Community College District Foundation honors his unyielding passion for education. The scholarship supports students who excel academically in either math or science, but need financial assistance to reach their ultimate goal of earning a Bachelor’s degree.
If you would like to contribute to his scholarship, donations may be made in his name to:
RCCD Foundation 4800 Magnolia Ave. Riverside CA 92506
We sponsor student scholarships at all of the college districts where we actively work. We also sponsor the Dr. Michael Maas Memorial Endowed Scholarship as part of the Riverside Community College District Foundation. Over the past 10 years, this scholarship has provided opportunity for more than 20 students who excel academically in either math or science to pursue their educational goals.
We support our clients’ foundations and initiatives that create opportunity for students. For example, we participate in the Cypress College Guardian Scholars program, which provides a comprehensive support system for current and former foster youth and helps them successfully navigate the complexities of higher education.
We actively engage in supporting local bond efforts for the clients and communities we serve. This often includes community communication and engagement, organizing and hosting community learning forums, and staffing phone bank initiatives to share out project information in our client’s communities.
This holiday season, MAAS Companies, in proud partnership with CCM, is delighted to sponsor the Holiday of Hope event in Oceanside. This initiative brings joy and essential support to families in need. Going beyond sponsorship, we've also adopted three families, ensuring they feel the warmth and joy of the season. Join us in making a difference. For more information on how you can contribute.
In addition to our support of our clients and their communities, we are also enthusiastic about supporting our employees and their families. We have supported multiple sports teams for our employees’ children, donated to school events and publications, and supported employees’ children in reaching important academic and sports goals they set for themselves. This is a small way through which MAAS can give back and a powerful way to support students, families, and communities with their unique goals.
