Dr. Michael Maas († 6/13/2012)

After serving in multiple Vice President roles within the California community college system, Dr. Michael Maas founded MAAS Companies in 1987. He brought first-hand expertise in educational master planning, facility planning, financial planning, site acquisition, program requirements, and entitlement processing. He developed the firm’s service offerings, starting with educational planning and development services and quickly expanding to include capital construction program management.

Today, MAAS Companies carries on Dr. Maas’ legacy of deeply understanding educational institution needs and proactively navigating agency approval processes with reason, expertise, and partnership. Established by his daughters, the Dr. Michael L. Maas Memorial Endowed Scholarship at the Riverside Community College District Foundation honors his unyielding passion for education. The scholarship supports students who excel academically in either math or science, but need financial assistance to reach their ultimate goal of earning a Bachelor’s degree.
