MAAS was retained to act as Owner's Representative for projects funded by Department of Defense grants for construction, renovation, repair, or expansion of public schools on military installations. MAAS coordinated all construction activities and financial reporting to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. The scope included campus-wide renovations of Burroughs High School and construction of the new Murray Middle School on an adjacent site.
The Burroughs modernization involved renovating all permanent instructional spaces, adding a new Administration Building and Concessions facility, replacing HVAC systems, improving site paving, expanding student parking, and installing modern audiovisual and technology infrastructure.
The new Murray Middle School houses all students and includes a Music and Art Building, Library, Multi-Purpose Room, Administration Building, gymnasium, playing fields, and a central courtyard.
“Their years of significant architectural, construction, and project-management experience, coupled with demonstrated skill in project assessment, situational evaluation, value engineering, positive problem solving, and effective communication, have kept the projects focused on District needs while respecting available resources.”
