MAAS was hired to acquire, construct, and improve classrooms and facilities—including vocational, career, and technical spaces—modernize outdated classrooms, and improve student access to computers and modern technology as stipulated in Measure J. Our firm developed the Program Implementation Plan, overall budget, master program schedule, and phasing plan, and produced a procedures manual for all phases of the bond program. MAAS also helped the District develop a sustainability policy and implement energy-efficient measures for existing and future buildings.
Specific projects completed include the new Disabled Student Program & Services (DSPS) building; College Center expansion; modernization of the Nursing Building and academic buildings 200, 300, and 800 with fifteen classroom interim-housing units; renovation of the library, pool, and quad; new competition running track; new obstacle course for the Police and Sheriff Training Academy; HVAC replacements for the library and gym; and new exterior lighting for campus parking lots.
